“Laughter is an instant vacation.” – Milton Berle.
Wouldn’t you agree? The best vacations are full of laughter!
I used to wear my hard work as a badge of honor by rarely taking time off for vacation.
Not anymore.
Now, I understand the importance of making work life balance a priority by taking breaks and vacations from my career.
In fact, I have found that taking time to recharge and spend time with loved ones is NECESSARY for my success.
When I take trips with family or friends, it is far and away the best time to deepen relationships and build memories that bring me joy, long after the trip.
Your vacation needn’t be perfect to be memorable. Some of our best stories, the ones that prompt howls of laughter, are about vacation mishaps.
My husband and I cringe and laugh when we recall the time that both of our our boys both got sick during a turbulent flight to New York City. Lets just say that several rows of seats will never be the same on that aircraft!
Vacations also needn’t be long, or expensive. You can be a tourist in your hometown. You can take a weekend away. Or, you can use your vacations to pursue a hobby, as my family does with sailing on our sailboat, Glad In It.
To encourage you to plan your next little break, below are seven of my favorite quotes on taking a break; one for each day of the week!
I also am currently sailing with my family in the British Virgin Islands for our kids’ Spring Break – For even more vacation inspiration, be sure to follow along on Instagram or Facebook, as I will be posting photos throughout the week of our family fun. I have also shared some with you below!
